NextGen is causing my BlackBerry to restart or freeze.

Your application memory and storage is shared on your BlackBerry. If you have too many applications running, your BlackBerry may restart to try to clear out the memory to prevent permanent data loss.

To prevent this, you may wish to try:

  • Moving some media like photos or music onto the SD card to free up application memory.
  • Deleting unused apps.
  • Instead of having multiple apps open, go through and close/exit out of apps you are not currently using to free up memory. You can see which apps are open by clicking on the BlackBerry menu button, and then clicking Switch Application. You will see a list of apps that are currently open, and you can go into each, and close out.
  • Make sure you have upgraded your OS to latest version by using Desktop Manager. See How do I upgrade my BlackBerry OS?.
