About Anh

Anh is a Fitness Enthusiast living in Southern CA. She and her husband Jay are two of Gym Technik's featured authors. Together they author their ever growing blog The Muscle Couple - The Online Destination for Improving Your Health, Fitness and Family Life.

Anh has been into serious focused training for about 6 years now. A lifelong skinny person, who always struggled to stay over 90 pounds at 5-2, she was finally able to change her body permanently by focusing on her nutrition.

"I am amazed at how malnourished most women are when it comes to getting enough protein in their diets". “Women are constantly starving themselves for the purposes of being thin when they really need to be eating smaller protein based meals more often. I was able to add 17 solid pounds of muscle to my physique over the last 6 years by consistently consuming enough protein thru 4-6 feedings per day.”

Anh trains religiously with her husband Jay. She finds the time they spend together in the gym invaluable. "It’s very difficult raising a 16 month old daughter to find the quality time necessary to keep our relationship and love for one another strong. Training together 3-4 nights a week even if for only 60-90 mins, is something we both cherish and is truly “couples therapy”. “I usually let Jay design the programs but I will push him to work hard during our time in the gym together.”

You will find The Muscle Couple training at Golds Gym in Pasadena and Venice(on Wknds and when they can get a sitter). "We also have a membership to 24 Hour Fitness because of their Child Care Facilities. A big part of our ability to train together as a couple is having qualified Childcare we can rely on”.

Anh likes to think her best body parts are her shoulders and legs. At only 5-2, she is blessed with the long arms and legs of a jazz and ballet dancer. She was both in her teenage years. "The long hours of training gave me great muscular balance and coordination and a sound base to allow me transition into the World of Fitness.

Anh has a pretty hectic daily schedule trying to be a Mother to the Muscle B and balance eating healthy and doing her Cardio. Her goal is to always get about 125gms of Protein daily and try and stay away from refined grains and sugars. Blessed with a naturally fast metabolism, she still finds it difficult to stay lean having to eat on the go and constantly attending to Alexandra.

Anh, like her husband, also uses her Blackberry to record her training on GT.
