Sonya Gill

A Personal Trainer, Journalist, Television and On-Air Personality, and an individual who feels the word “diet” should be banished. Some call her a fitness freak, while others call her dedicated, she calls it living. Living a well balanced lifestyle that is, and believes that there is no reason that everyone else shouldn’t be doing it either.

Sonya’s love for fitness began for her when she was just 5 years old.  Having parents who participated and competed in almost everything from curling, bowling, to playing squash, and even hunting and fishing, it was inevitable that she would carry the same active genes throughout her life as well. Thus, she grew up figure skating, swimming, skiing, playing baseball, basketball, and even rugby.

At the age of 19, she attained her certificate in Personal Training, at 23 completed a degree in Psychology and at 25 completed her diploma in Broadcasting/Journalism. For her, all three fit like a hand in glove. She took her love for fitness, and her passion for helping people and began writing for various newspapers and magazines. Today she even has a fitness segment on her Drive Home show, on HD radio.

With many years of experience in the fitness industry, there is no rock Sonya will ever leave unturned if that’s what it takes to answer your questions or bring more knowledge to help you live an active well balanced lifestyle.
